J Remove light dirt from the battery and product con-

tacts with a dry, non-ﬂuﬃng cloth before inserting the

batteries.

J Remove the batteries from the product if it is not in use

for any length of time.

Make sure that the polarity is correct when you insert

the batteries. This is indicated in the battery compart-

ment. The batteries can otherwise explode.

J Insert the batteries with care. The product can other-

wise be damaged.

J Please do not dispose of used batteries in your house-

hold waste but take them to a designated collection

depot for special waste.

Getting started

Inserting / changing the batteries

j Note: First remove the protective foil from the device.

j Open the battery compartment

on the back of the

appliance.

j Remove the used batteries if need be.

j Insert two new 1.5 V

batteries (AAA) into the bat-

tery compartment

Note: Ensure correct polarity. This is indicated in the

battery compartment

j Close the battery compartment

again.

Using the Multifunction Detector

Tip! Test the device before initial use on a metal pipe

or power line whose position you know exactly.

j Slide the function switch

to “METAL” in order to

locate metal pipes etc.

j Slide the function switch

to “VOLTAGE” in order to

locate power lines etc.

j Hold the measuring head

directly on the desired

point of the wall.

j Press and hold down the PUSH key

j Move the device slowly over the wall surface.

Note: Ensure direct contact between the measuring

head

and the wall.
